Talking Data Speaker Series
Managing with data at Rome2rio and Bing
Michael Cameron, Co-founder & Chairman, Rome2rio
Modern consumer web businesses have access to vast repositories of user data, and data science provides insights from this data to help drive business decisions. In this talk, I guide the audience through real world examples from Microsoft's Bing web search business, and Rome2rio, a travel start-up based in Melbourne. I show how big data and data science can be used for A/B testing, analyzing user trends and providing customer insights. I also illustrate how to involve your team in data driven decisions, and how data doesn't always provide the answers.
